Michel Langlois has no children. He is the end of the line, the last link in the family chain, yet he seeks to leave his mark on his family and society. In this film, gay Quebecoise filmmaker Langlois builds a bridge between the living and the dead in an attempt to better understand himself and find meaning in his life.

This beautifully constructed intimate family portrait is the director's attempt to extend his family line. Through different encounters and revelations, Langlois traces a family tree with many branches and, in doing so, reveals disturbing coincidences that mark his family and contain their family secrets. His three uncles, each struggling with their own issues of disability and isolation, alcoholism and homosexuality that was never fully lived out, become Langlois' touch stone as he reconnects a broken link in the family chain.
